there’s somethin’ ’bout the way the street looks when it’s just rained….

there’s a glow on the pavement…..

hello, hello! forgive me for being an AWFUL excuse for a blogger- this is my first post this month. track, soccer, gymnastics has been taking up most of my time, and, of course, my history teacher thinks i have no life, so she gave me 59876543567309487528901 assignments. yay! now the school year is coming to a close, and i will have more time to post over the summer. oh my gosh, i can’t believe i’m graduating and moving on to- gulp-high school. yikes.

the title of this post is a line from taylor swift’s song fearless, in honor of my first (hopefully of many) taytay concert coming up soon!! I AM SO EXCITEDDDDDD. sam got to see it before me, and i’m super jealous.
the first few pictures show some of the flowers in our garden in sunlight, and the rest are how they look after it’s rained. though flowers are always pretty (even when they’re dead), i love the look of rain on flowers, and the scent in the air after rain falls. i think rain makes everything a little more beautiful. also, i love redbud trees??? they’re SO gorgeous. ♥

life updates:

-i beat my personal record in the 100m dash in track! originally my time was around 15.29 seconds, and then it was 14.69, and then in a relay i ran it in 13.94 seconds!!

-speaking of track, i got to go to an invite-only meet on thursday, but the FrEaKiNg seventh grade soccer team took the bus without us, so we ended up missing four races. bleh. thanks a lot, sevvies.

-i’ve been binge watching the great british baking show a LOT recently, i just finished the second season. no joke, i watched for 5 hours straight yesterday. i think i have too much free time. which i could have spent blogging but….

-my birthday’s next sunday! yay, aging.

-i was chosen as a finalist to give a speech at graduation! i’ll find out if i got it tomorrow….i’ll update y’all.

-i have some new art, i’ll get it posted at some point in my life.

– i need stranger things season three RIGHT NOW. seriously, how can we wait until 2019??

-CLUB PENGUIN IS BACK, MY DOODS. it’s really funny because it’s unblocked on our school chromebooks, so everyone made an account and plays it in class. plus, most of the people on there are my age, which is great and goes to show how immature we all are. XD my favorite part of it is going to crowded places and screaming “WHO LIKES PANIC! AT THE DISCO?!” and friending whoever says “ME” and tells me their favorite song. (btw if you wanna make an account, go to clubpenguinonline!!! my username is sptsptspgoot)

-i kind of want to learn how to play ukelele. it sounds really cool. (loren, want to teach me?)

-i literally am the dumbest person ever. i accidentally put salt in my mom’s coffee, asked a girl IN MY MATH CLASS what period she had math, AND fell up AND down the stairs all in one day. no exaggeration.

also, happy mother’s day! make sure to thank your lovely mothers for bringing you into the world. 🙂

it’s a long drive home to normality

hi guys! (title is from archers by with confidence.) we haven’t talked in a while! you guys are really important to me, and i want to know what’s happening in your life, so feel free to chat with me in the comments. 🙂

-i joined polar bear running club at my school, where we run in the cold. i hate running and i suck at long distance, so i don’t know why i joined, but it’s fun. i can’t wait until we can have snowball fights.

-there’s this really annoying kid in my group for a history project. he refused to do any work and instead sent his friend memes for 30 minutes, and then he tried to argue with me that taking an entire paragraph from a website and putting quotation marks around it isn’t plagiarism. i got tired of arguing with him, so after he completely ignored the teacher who told him to write his own paragraph, i sweetly raised my hand and said, “can i go to the bathroom? this is giving me a headache.” and left class for the rest of the period.

not today by imagine dragons and a daydream away by all time low (thanks loren) are my new favorite songs, go listen to them and then fangirl with meeee. also can we talk about how underrated the chainsmokers are???? like???? they’re great, their lyrics are amazing, and andrew and alex are so cute ❤

-christmas is only 13 days away!?!?!?!!? that’s less than two weeks??? btw, i applaud those of you who do blogmas, a new blog post every day is a LOT of work.

-current fav book: the woman in cabin 10 by ruth ware.

-we took high school placement tests a couple months ago, and i’m getting the results today. I’M SO NERVOUS. i’ll update with either a thumbs up or a thumbs down when i get them.

-my brother keeps trying to eat my cookies so i chased him around the house to get them back. #logic

-i updated my about me page with new pictures because i forgot that i did a face reveal…XD

-i found sooooo many good writing prompts on pinterest….i feel a story coming on….

-speaking of pinterest, you can follow me, my username is rutvi.

the struggles of group projects

hi everyone! school is in full swing, which means that unfortunately, i’ve been cursed with the task of doing quite a few group projects lately.

they are FREAKING TERRIBLE. i can’t be the only person who thinks this…right?! here’s why:

being the only person who does any work.

this is by far the most annoying part of group projects! some people are too lazy to do their part of the project, and they PROMISE TO DO IT, but they never do! (i’m looking at you, felipe from spanish class.) i am just so confused by this because DUDE. IF YOU TOLD ME YOU WERE GONNA HELP, WHY ISN’T THE PROJECT DONE?

…but also wanting to do the entire project because you’re afraid that if you let someone else do it, you’ll fail.

this is probably the most selfish and stupid reason on the list, but IT’S COMPLETELY VALID, OK?! i usually end up taking charge on group projects, which, admittedly,  kind of  makes me a terrible person to work with, because i kind of want to do everything, so it’s hard for me to even let other people do any work.  i always want to fix everything that people write, and by the time i’m done, it’s completely different. 😂

having people who don’t care in your group.

usually, i end up being in a group with someone who doesn’t give a rat’s fart  about their grades. and they just assume that i don’t care either! like, no!!!! that’s nottttt how this works. they spend the entire time goofing off, and when you try and tell them what to do, they’ll yell at you for being controlling?! (i kind of am but whatever)

when you have a limited amount of time but you still want to make a great project

my ideas tend to be very over the top, and that means that it takes a long time to get everything together and for the project to be perfect…but it’s hard when you only have a few days and you still want to do something creative! i hate just doing the bare minimum for projects, and going overboard is just what turns out the best and usually earns my group a good grade. but it’s just so goshdillydarn hard.

group grades

ughhhhh. group. grades. suck. teachers sometimes grade projects based on how the group as a whole did, which means that if someone messed up, we’re. all. doomed. not to mention that projects are usually A HUGE CHUNK of your overall grade!! if the project is bad, i’m basically going to fail that class, and then i won’t graduate school, and i won’t get a job when i’m older, so DON’T YOU DARE FAIL THAT PROJECT IF YOU’RE IN MY GROUP.

this is basically just me ranting about my group project while i actually should be working on it…..

also, i just re-read this post and…uhhhh…. i sound insane. i bet all of you are hoping you never have to do group projects with me. XD

do you hate group projects?

the 4 types of people in your gym class

ah, gym class. there’s nothing teens hate more than middle school gym class. but…what about the people in that class? no, i’m not talking about your friends. these are the types of people you spend the worst part of your day with:

you know this one- we all know this person. (it’s usually a guy)  this person treats gym class like it’s the olympics. they throw the ball too hard, are obnoxiously fast, and get mad when someone doesn’t understand sports. (aka me….)

them: so yeah, all you have to do is dribble the ball, do a fake out, run this way, pass the ball to me -BUT ONLY IF I’M OPEN! and then do a triple axel, make a backwards pass, perform an acrobatic skill, and dunk the ball into the net. pretty easy, right?

me: uhhh…

them: ughhhhhhh! *rolls eyes and explains process again*

me: *still doesn’t understand*

you either a) are this person or b) can’t stand this person. theeeese are the people that opt out of gym whenever they can, and then who spend the entire period talking. i really don’t have an explanation for this person…other than ALL THEY DO IS TALK.

this is the kid that’s always hurt. he/she might be injured because they are also the athlete (see above) and SPRINT THE MILE, and then pass out.

or, it could just be the person that always trips or gets hit in the head in dodgeball (that’s me. all the time. i’m not even kidding. my head still hurts from monday- a kid chucked a basketball at the net and it bounced off and hit me in the forehead. ouch.)

almost 100% of the time, this person is a girl. this girl thinks school is a fashion show. the entire locker room smells like her perfume, and she’s always blocking the mirror because she HAS to “fix herself” before she looks acceptable enough to go into the gym, which is something VERY ANNOYING for those of us who just want to wash our hands and leave. she also takes approximately 2 hours to change from her outfit into her gym uniform, which is something that is, quite honestly, admirable.

a couple more that i don’t have explanations for: the idiot, the whiner, the loud one, and the clueless.

i hope this was relatable, and be sure to tell me if i missed any!

||back to school tag||

hello, hello! awhile back, loren tagged me for the back to school tag, and i finally decided to stop being lazy and do it. thanks for tagging me!

thank the person who tagged you

answer the questions

post new questions (or use the same ones)

tag as many people as you want.

wear something old, something borrowed, something new, and something blue. (i actually sort of followed this. i’m wearing my brother’s old school shirt, which has blue on it, so there’s the old, borrowed, and blue- and then for the new… *goes upstairs to put on new earrings* *realizes upstairs is too far*

don’t die. (and i’m sorry, but this made me crack up- i just had to add loren’s line in here: death is terrible for the complexion, dearie.)

now, the questions!

1) when’s your first day of school?

it was a while ago…august 16.

2) what do (and don’t) you look forward to about entering the realm of the dead? uh, i mean the learned?

haha. i guess i’m interested in seeing how what i’m learning now pays off towards a future career. aka proving my teachers wrong because, no i will not need to know what jimmy’s profit is if he sells forty apples for 70 cents each.

3) homeschooled, public schooled, or private schooled?

public schoollll.

4) what grade are you going into? (if you’re okay sharing)

i’m currently in 8th grade.

5) how many more years of torture do you have to endure learn?

*counts on fingers* 8, counting college. sigh.

6) what are your goals for this school year?

move up to team(the next level) in gymnastics. i’m the oldest one in my current gymnastics class and it feels so weird.

7) what’s your favorite season to school in? fall, winter, or spring?

honestly, they’re all terrible. but probably winter because NO GYM CLASS.

8) how is schooling going to effect your blogging?

as you can probably tell, i post a lot less during the school year because i have tons of homework, but i still do things on the weekends.

9) what’s your favorite school subject?

reading/writing. my teachers are always so nice and i read so many good books. or band, because MUSIC.

10) your least favorite?

ew, gym.

i usually don’t mind it, but this year is going to suck because the only sport i’m good at- soccer-is the ONLY ONE THAT WE’RE NOT DOING IN GYM CLASS THIS YEAR. i’m just going to be that girl who’s like, umm, gross, sports.

i caught the ball once (yes, only once) during a flag football game and i was so amazed that i just stood there, and then my teammates yelled, “RUN!” but i didn’t know where to go. sighhhh. future NFL star  right here, kids.

(after that game my friend told me it was painful to watch me play. XD)

11) what subject are you best at?

math or spanish. (but that’s only because spanish is easy.) people think i spend 5 hours studying spanish vocab lists, but in reality i don’t think i’ve ever touched those outside of when i’m required to at school.

12) what subject are you worst at?

i think my paragraph about gym sums that up…

13) what extra-curricular activities are you planning this year (if any)?

gymnastics, soccer, and track in the spring. i can’t WAIT.

14) how are you preparing for life/college this year (on a conscious level)?

i’m finding the volume of weird shapes, because that’s going to help me become an author.

jk, i’m not doing anything really.

15) do you play any sports in school?

yup, track.

16) is there any way that schooling is going to help your blogging endeavors? or how has it helped your blogging skillz in the past?

being good at reading and writing in school has always helped me be a good writer.

17) how much time a day is school going to take for you?

*counts on fingers again* about 7 hours.

18) are you looking forward to seeing friends more often during the school year?

yeah, i love my weirdos. ❤

19) are you dreading or looking forward to the event (or did you, if it’s already happened)?

i was just kind of “eh” about school this year. i definitely was not looking forward to the amount of homework.

20) what are you most looking forward to about school?

21) how are you planning to fit actual life in with your school schedule?

take a break from schoolwork sometimes, get things done on weekends.

22) what are your overall thoughts on school?

school’s fine. i can tolerate it. but i don’t like how everything follows a format and has to be the same way. when i try to be a good writer, i end up not following the “formula” the teacher has mandated and then i get points off. i don’t like writing with a formula because it makes everything seem so unnatural, and i end up spending more time getting the formula right that the actual writing has no meaning.

edit: i just realized that I forgot to tag people. 🤦🏻‍♀️i tag anyone currently wearing a ponytail.

my questions: (some of these are repeats because i’m lazy)

  1. do you also hate how everything has to follow a formula at school?
  2. what’s your worst subject?
  3. which class do you currently have the highest grade/scores in?
  4. what’s your favorite part about school?
  5. what’s an everyday outfit choice for you for school? or do you have a uniform?
  6. how does school help you with blogging?
  7. have you ever been in the principal’s office/gotten in trouble at school?
  8. what’s something new that you want to do this year?
  9. when is your last day of school?
  10. quick, you’re going to be late for first period! what time does your bell to start school ring?
  11.  if you’re homeschooled, do you like it? and if you’re in public/private school, do you wish you were homeschooled?
  12. write an incredibly detailed essay about cows. GO!
  13. any extra-curricular activities?
  14. what about sports?
  15. you got a day off from school- yay! what do you do?
  16. what grade are you in/going in to?
  17. do you have a favorite teacher? if so, why?
  18. do you like to listen to music while you work or does it distract you?
  19. do you take the bus?
  20.  what are your thoughts on standardized testing?

love you all! have a wonderful day.

i know the world’s a broken bone, but melt your headaches, call it home.

Guess the Object #1

So, I love guessing games, as you can probably see from my Guess The Character Posts I used to do.

In these posts, I will take a clipart image and edit it to make it black. Your job is to guess what all of them are. For each of my Guess The Object posts, there will be a theme. The theme for this one is food. So, which foods do you think these are? Get guessing for a shoutout to your blog.

SO! The images:

Do you like this game? 😉

Also, I wanted to give you an update on school-I’m surviving it! I get to see my friends in band, and that seems super fun. Tomorrow will be my third day, and I’m getting lost less now, which is a miracle of sorts, LOL. XD I’ve met a few people, one of which is my locker partner, and another girl who I have lunch, PE, and Spanish with. She’s really nice, and we share some of the same interests. 🙂 I know a few people from soccer who are in my classes, and my teachers are great. I can;t wait for the rest of the year, which is a surprise because of this post…haha. Anyways, I’m going to be really busy but, I actually think school is gonna be okay. ♥ 😀

(Shut up, Rutvi)

OKAY. Get guessing.
