Gymnast Struggles.

Hey! I’m here with another ‘awkward moments’ thing, and this time, it’s about gymnastics. 😛 I did it a little bit differently this time, but hopefully you still enjoy!

gymnaststruggle1Or you accidentally pull it or step on it. And then your hair looks like a rat’s nest. Like, did World War III just happen or was that my hair?

gymnaststruggle2.jpgYeah. See that happy girl up there? NOT ME DOING MY SPLITS. Usually I look like this: screamingface.jpg

Because I feel like screaming in pain. Not even lying.

gymnaststruggle3.jpgME. I can’t even tell you how often this happens.

gymnaststruggle4.jpgIt’s literally an exercise for me. Like, who needs push-ups? Need muscles? Just try putting your hair up. It works.

gymnaststruggle5.jpgJust forget about what the last thing said. Condiditoning is worse. XD

Hahaha, that was fun! If you can relate to any of these, comment below!

And GUYS, tomorrow begins the LAST WEEK OF SCHOOL!!!!! Oh my gosh! This year went by so fast! I’m so grateful for all the friends that I met this year. And next comes…*deep breath* Junior High. You should totally watch this video if you want a little laugh and you’re going to Junior High! 🙂 Tomorrow is field day, Wednesday is bowling/pizza party, Thursday is graduation, and then Friday, school’s OUT! I don’t know if I’m excited or not.

When do you get out of school?

Q & A: the Answers

Wow, I’ve been an awful blogger this month. Sorry about that! Well, here’s the answers to my Q and A! Enjoyyyyyyy! XD

The questions are in bold pink.

Okay! These two are from Miri.

What is your favorite name?

mine I really like the name Shaylee. 🙂
What is your favorite animal?

A cat or a unicorn. And don’t say unicorns aren’t real. THEY ARE. I HAVE ONE IN MY BACKYARD. no I don’t. XD

Next, questions from Janie!
What is the best picture you’ve taken?

Uh, one of these three? Which one of them is YOUR favorite, everyone? Let me know in the comments. ❤

What is your favorite book?

I think we all know Harry Potter is the best book series in existence. (But I also loved reading The Whole Story of Half a Girl.)
Where did you get the inspiration for “Lucky?”

Thanks for asking!  😉 I got ideas from my friends, and took very vague ideas from some of my favorite books so they fit my story. I was originally writing it for NaNoWriMo, and after that finished, my family figured out a way to get it published. It was a dream come true!
What is your favorite mystical creature?

Hint: officiallyaunicorn

If you could meet one blogger in real life, who would it be?

You don’t really expect me to choose, right? 😉

Onto Arianna’s questions.

Have you read the hunger games?

As a matter of fact, I’m reading it right now! I liked the first book, but Catching Fire (the one I’m reading right now) is a little confusing.
Have you read Percy Jackson and the Olympians? (If you haven’t, you should. you will be laughing your head off)

Yup. I’ve read the whole series. It’s my second favorite book series ever. 🙂 So I have this one friend, and while she was reading the series, we used to talk about it all the time and annoy my other friends who didn’t get our fandom references XD
Do you like swimming under water?

Yes, I do! It always takes a long time for me to adjust to cold water, though. (the pools open this weekend and I can’t WAIT to go!)

From Grace:

What made you want to start blogging?

I loved reading other blogs, and once my parents suggested that I start my own, I couldn’t get it out of my head. And actually, my brother and our friends had a blog that they all posted on (they deleted it) I thought it seemed really fun!
Is Rutvi your real name? (You don’t have to answer if it’s too personal)

Rutvi is my real name. 🙂

Do you like tea and coffee, and if so, which one do you like better?

I don’t like either. :/ 🙂
Have you ever been to an amusement park?

Six Flags is SO much fun!

Which is better, chocolate or vanilla?

Vanilla ice cream, chocolate cake. And I like brownies. XD
Your thoughts on vibrant hair color?

I think bright pink hair is cool. But other than that, it’s kind of…meh.

Thanks SO much for the questions, everyone! I had a lot of fun answering them. Have an amazing day!

Writing Tip: Create a Story around Your Photography

Hello, writers, bloggers, and unicorns!:) This is the kind of thing that I don’t normally post on here, but I had a great idea for a story as I was taking pictures of Brooke outside. I also have some tips that will help you when writing or give you some ideas!

Use nature as a writing prompt. If you see a leaf, you can make into something symbolic for a story or make up a dramatic line for a story. An example:

The leaf fluttered away in the gentle summer breeze. The sun shone brightly, the flowers were everywhere. But to me, everything served as a reminder that nothing stays forever. The pink peonies’ ruffled petals reminded me of the lacy pink dresses my sister used to wear. Suddenly, something as happy as a flower could make me want to cry.

I went to her grave the next day. It was hard to believe that my sister, the one who had lived and breathed and loved once was under the cold, unforgiving, earth. I sank to my knees and wished for my sister to come back. But it turns out that that was once upon a time. Wishing for things was behind me now. Wishing does not exist in a world where my sister does not either. DSC05872.JPG

Here’s another one I came up with after taking this photo:DSC05845.JPG

Dewdrops scattered the ground and the moonlight illuminated the sky. Dewdrops, I thought. The tears of the angels.

Even if it’s just one sentence, it can make a big difference in your story.DSC05857.JPGI was alone. It was an awful feeling, but I hardly remembered a time where other humans roamed the Earth anyway.

Run. The word was in big, flashing lights in my head. The world was no longer safe for people like me. A watch was of no use, I had been running for hours already. Time never mattered anyway. I kept running until my legs were sore, until I couldn’t breathe, until I reached a place I no longer recognized as Earth.

See how that works? Each of the short stories I wrote have a common theme, so I could probably mush that into one big story.

I will be posting this on both of my blogs, just an FYI.

What are your thoughts? Did this help you?

I Was You {Writing} (Part Two)

Uh, this’ll make more sense if you read Part one.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that you can’t live in the past. But that memory…it was my own. I screamed in pain that hurt worse than any battle wound. How could someone’s happy, perfect life turn into something so imperfect, so wrong? Running from the past. Chased by things I didn’t want to remember. My body shook with sobs and a single tear fell onto the photograph that I held in my hands. Pictures. They’re just memories waiting to be burned. Oh, I wanted them gone so badly. So badly. But I had to go back. To change my future.

I laid down on my back, the tears not yet gone, but exhausted enough to sleep. I closed my eyes and waited for sleep to knock on my door. Finally the door opened and I fell into a dream.

So, my interpretation of this story is that it’s about girl. She lived a happy childhood, but now, growing up, she’s realizing this life isn’t what she wants, she’s wishing  that she could change her past and then come back to the future. I understand that it’s confusing, and trust me, it was hard to explain, but I’m having fun making this a story that’s exciting and unusual.

Now, let’s talk about my inspiration for this story, because you’re probably thinking, “Where in the world did these ideas come from?”

Listening to songs has actually given me a few great inspirations for this story. Fir example, there’s that one line in ‘Stressed Out’ by Twenty-one Pilots that says, wish we could turn back time, to the good old days.

That’s what the main character wants. Let’s go back to where I said the girl wishes she was still young. That idea came from Never Grow Up by Taylor Swift. One line is, Oh, I wish I’d never grown up. It could still be simple.

Those lines provided inspiration for this part of the story.

Thanks for reading! Part three coming soon. 🙂

Awkward Moments EVERY Unicorn Can Relate To!

Yes, you read that right.

Today, I will be ranting about listing awkward situations most people get into. And because my site’s tagline says unicorns are real here, that’s what I’m gonna start calling my followers. XD Soooo… I think everyone’s good with being called a unicorn, right? ‘Cause unicorns are awesome! Enough of my rambling. 😉

  1. When you’re quietly singing or humming to yourself and the person next to you thinks you’re talking to them. Even weirder if you’re singing a Taylor Swift song. 😶
  2. When you’re eating a bag of chips or something, and you’re doing something else at the same time, so you don’t realize when you’ve finished the chips, and you’re digging around in the bag trying to find one.
  3. Being congratulated by a bunch of people all at once.. Now, I’m not usually a shy person. And I get it. I’m grateful, I really am. But what do I say to ALL THESE PEOPLE?! A simple ‘thank you’ sounds lame, and you don’t want to sound like you’re OVERLY excited. So…..
  4. Reading a book, and then gasping because you had no idea that the book was going to end with a cliffhanger. Then come the stares. I did this one in class when I was reading the third book in The Land of Stories series. Soooo awkward.
  5. When taking a test, slowing down/waiting for someone else to turn theirs in first because you don’t want to be the first one to finish.

Now onto the annoying stuff. 😛

  1. When you drop the clear backing for your earring. I seriously can’t tell you how many times I’ve done this. The carpet in my room is white and it’s practically a graveyard for my earring backs.
  2. When you can’t say hello without someone saying, “It’s me.”
  3. GROUP PROJECTS. Honestly, I’ve gotten so used to my group not helping me that working separately and working with a group is practically the same thing. (BTW, I finished my PowerPoint. Success!) 🙂 And group projects just stress me out anyway.

Not being able to sleep. Anyone else feel like this. I could have woken up at five and the morning and I still can’t sleep. HOW. :O image*Spongebob narrator voice*

Oh man, those eyes look really creepy. XD

Oh! And on my other blog, I was nominated for an award, and I for got to ask questions and nominate people. I’ve updated that post, so you can see that here.

Feel free to put this button on your sidebar, btw. 🙂 😛 XD officiallyaunicorn.jpg

❤ That ends today’s post, let me know if any of you can relate to some! 🙂 I had wayyyy more of these, but I’m saving them for another post.

Have a wonderful day, you guys!

Q & A!

Hey! If you can’t tell from the title, I’m going to be doing a Q and A to celebrate 15 followers. Thanks, everyone! You can ask any questions you’d like, but please no personal questions. 🙂 ❤

The rest of this post is updates!

  1. I got my back walkover on high beam at gymnastics! It was so out of the blue, I had never done it before, and I just randomly got it! I’m so excited!
  2. Also on the topic of gymnastics- Spring Show is this weekend! It’s once a year, and this the first year I get to do a dance- we’re doing Fight Song for the dance and then we have a medley of songs for tumbling.
  3. SCHOOL IS ALMOST OVER!!!!! It’s kind of bittersweet for me, as a lot of my friends are going to a different junior high and I probably won’t see them until high school. (WHOA.) Plus, I get bored really easily. What am I going to do at home for three months?! But then again, the school I’m going to next year is really great and I can’t wait to be with my friends and start band with a new director.
  4. Friday is my birthday! 🙂
  5. I have the song ‘You’re Not Sorry’ by Taylor Swift (who else?!) stuck in my head. Totally random but I decided to throw that in here anyway. 😛

Bye everyone!

Mother’s Day 2016

Before we get into this post, let me say Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing moms out there. I love you, Mom!! So, my mom and I were just hanging out on the couch, (I just had a four-day weekend and I do NOT want to go back to school) and we found pictures from our Europe trip, about 4 or 5 years ago. My dad took them, and if you haven’t guessed yet, he’s quite the photographer. 🙂 Here is a post dedicated to all the wonderful things moms do. imageMoms take care of all their chicks.

imageHey, everybody, listen up!

They aren’t afraid to be firm, but really they’re warm and fuzzy, just like baby chicks. ❤️

image Namaste.

They are always busy!

But seriously, guys, how cute is this picture. Come on.  It’s a chick doing yoga. Yes. Just YES. imageThey are caring.

Always watching, just because they love you.

imageThey are smart.

I don’t say it enough, but I love you, Mom. Happy Mother’s Day!

Btw, the first picture is my entry for BIBPC! Nooooo it’s almost over!! The category is action! It’s kind of hard to tell, but the ducks were moving when the photo was taken. 😉

Show this post to your mom and be super awesome! 🙂 😉

Have a great day!

My Latest Paintings

Hi! I love crafting, painting, DIYs, and just being creative! That’s why I started my blog. 🙂 I have a few paintings to show you that I’ve made recently. Enjoy! DSC04824.JPGHere’s the first one! I painted it today. It’s a beautiful day, so I went outside and spread out my picnic blanket and worked on this! It’s painted on a plank of wood that I got from Michael’s. First I painted the sky and the water, then added the sun and did second coats. I then covered it with Mod Podge. 🙂 DSC04825.JPGThe sun’s reflection on the water. The only thing I dislike is that the little hairs from the brushes got stuck all over my painting. However, you can’t really see it unless you look closely!DSC04826.JPGAnd the sun! I love the coraly color that I mixed. It was so easy and it’s gorgeous. I think I might add a bird later…DSC04829.JPG#2! I realized that I didn’t paint a sun, oh well. DSC04832.JPG#3! I arranged tape in the shape of a heart, and then colored all around it with markers. Then I dipped a q-tip in rubbing alcohol (be careful!) and made the swirly designs. Peel the tape off, and voila!

Which one was your favorite?
